Instructions

  1. Sequins

    • 1

Lay the new drape panels on a flat surface.

    • 2

Create a design using sequins on the flat panel.

    • 3

Lift up one sequin at a time, and place fabric glue on the back. Reposition the sequin into place. Repeat the process until all sequins are glued to the surface. Alternative: Use a hot glue gun with cool glue sticks to secure the sequins.

    • 4

Allow the drape to remain flat for 30 minutes prior to hanging. This ensures that all the glue has hardened sufficiently.

    Beads

    • 5

Lay the new drape panels on a flat surface.

    • 6

Draw a design on the flat panel with a water-soluble marking pencil. Note: The design will flow smoother if drawn first on a separate piece of paper. This will help you create the desired design with minimal drawing mistakes.

    • 7

Use a needle and thread. Thread the needle and tie a knot in the end of the thread.

    • 8

Hand sew the beads onto the drawn line. Hand sew beads into any areas where the design calls for beads inside the drawn outline.

    Fringe or Lace

    • 9

Pin the fringe or lace at the desired location. Example of fringe and lace placement may include the drape's hem line, the sewn line along the casing seams and on the outside edges. Make sure to pin the fringe or lace to the front of the drapery panel.

    • 10

Fold both ends of the fringe or lace around the outside edge of the drapery panel. Pin into place. This clean finishes the edges so a raw edge is not seen.

    • 11

Sew the fringe or lace into place using a sewing machine. Make sure to use matching thread.
