PowerPoint notes can help you stay focused and on point during your presentation.

Speakers who give PowerPoint presentations may feel more comfortable in front of an audience when they have notes to refer to. The PowerPoint application has a Notes pane function that allows you to type important details below each slide. This is also handy if you wish to copy and paste text from other programs or text files into your presentation. These notes do not show on your slides, but there is a print option that allows you to have a hard copy of the notes.

Instructions

    • 1

Open a new or existing PowerPoint presentation.

    • 2

Locate the "Design" tab and click on "Page Setup."

    • 3

Click on the radial button under "Notes, handouts and online." Specify the orientation of your notes, whether "Portrait" or "Landscape" and click "OK."

    • 4

Choose whether you wish to print the notes in black and white or color, then click "OK."

Tips & Warnings

  • Click on the "Preview" button under the "Print dialog" box to preview how your slide notes will look.
