How to Put a Song on a Web Page thumbnail
Add music to your web page using HTML.

As you build your web pages, consider adding a song to your site to provide an entertaining element for your visitors. Post your favorite music, enhance your content and add variety by making this multimedia element part of your display. Although several HyperText Markup Language (HTML) codes accomplish this task, you have the option to use the link method, which uses a minimum amount of codes. Use your music file and an online resource to put a song on your web page.

Instructions

    • 1

Point your browser to a file hosting website like MediaFire or File Dropper. Click on the "Upload" button and continue to follow the prompts to select the music from your computer and add it to the host. Copy the web address that displays when the upload process is complete.

    • 2

Start up your computer's text editor program and open your web page document.

    • 3

Position your cursor in the area where you want your song to appear.

    • 4

Type the HTML "<a href=" ">" anchor code and enter your song's URL address between the angle brackets inside the quotation marks that appear after the equal sign. Enter the name of the song, which becomes the hyperlink text that a user clicks on to hear your music, and then type an ending "</a>" tag, so that the entire format appears as follows: <a href="http://www.filehost.com/music.mp3">Name of Song</a>

Save your document. Your web page now displays your song.
