Windows Terminal Services (TS) allows you to remotely control a Windows 2000 computer from anywhere on the network. If you want to disable the Windows 2000 Terminal Services application, you must remove it from the Windows components in the "Add/Remove Programs" section of the Control Panel. This adds some security and stops the possibility of unauthorized users connecting to the computer.

      Click the Windows 2000 "Start" button and select "Settings." Click "Control Panel." In this window, double-click "Add/Remove Programs." This opens a list of programs installed on your computer.

      Click the button on the left labeled "Add/Remove Windows Components." This shows you all the Windows software installed on the computer.

      Check the box labeled "Terminal Services" and click "Remove." Click "Yes" to confirm that you want to remove and disable the Terminal Services software.
