How to Seal a Tubeless Wheelbarrow Wheel
The most difficult part of changing a flat tire on a wheelbarrow may be sealing the tubeless wheelbarrow wheel. The tire doesn't want to stay in place while you fill it with air. Each time that it slips, you lose the air that you had in it and have to start all over. However, there is a trick that you can use to keep the tire in place. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Wheelbarrow wheel
- New or repaired tire
- Adjustable strap
- Air compressor or bicycle pump
Instructions
-
-
1
Place the new or repaired tire back on the wheelbarrow wheel.
-
2
Wrap an adjustable strap (or tie-down) around the circumference of the wheelbarrow wheel and tighten it enough to hold the tire in place, so it won't slip around while you are filling it.
-
-
3
Inflate the tire with an air compressor or bicycle pump until a good seal has formed between the tire and the wheelbarrow wheel. This will happen before the tire is fully inflated.
-
4
Remove the strap, making sure that the tire remains in place on the wheel.
-
5
Inflate the tire the rest of the way, filling it with the required amount of pressure (about 26 psi).
