How to Turn Off Print to File

The "Print to File" option appears in the "Print" dialog box on Windows computers when you print files from the Internet or from certain applications. The option is used to save a print job as a document, with print instructions, for printing at a later date. "Print to File" generates a PRN file on your computer. You can easily turn the option off when your print from any application.

Instructions

1. Click "File" and then "Print" from any application.

2. Uncheck the "Print to File" box in either the bottom left or top right of the "Print" dialog box.

3. Select an active printer from the "Name" drop-down box.

4. Click "Print" to start printing your file as normal.
