How to Add RAM to a Leveno T60

RAM will make your laptop run faster.

Adding RAM to a laptop is an easy way to greatly increase performance. RAM is random access memory and is responsible for a great amount of performance in your computer for things such as games, loading windows and music and much more. RAM itself is a rather inexpensive computer part and the process of adding RAM is simple enough. Adding RAM to a Lenovo T60 laptop is an operation anyone can perform to improve a computer.

Things You'll Need

• Precision screwdriver
• RAM

Instructions

1. Remove any power plugs from the laptop and take out the battery. Flip the laptop over.

2. Find the holes on the bottom of the laptop that have a little RAM memory symbol near them. There are five and they are opposite the battery cavity. Unscrew the screws and place them somewhere safe.

3. Flip the laptop over so it is right side up. Lift the front panel off by the corners opposite the monitor.

4. Locate the RAM adjacent to the touch pad. Gently pull the old RAM from the RAM port. Slide the new RAM sticks into the RAM ports.

5. Replace the front panel and screw all the screws back in. Reinsert the battery and plug the laptop in. RAM installation is complete.
