A CDRW is a type of CD that you can customize using a CD burner.

CDRW stands for compact disc rewriteable. If your computer is equipped with a CDRW drive, you can burn various types of data to CDs. Although music is the most common type of data burned to CDs, you can also burn other types of data, including video files. AVI is among video file types that you can burn to a rewriteable CD. Downloading burning software is usually unnecessary since most computers come pre-installed with burning software.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert a blank rewriteable CD into your CDRW drive. A dialog box will automatically appear.

    • 2

Click on "Open rewriteable CD folder using Windows Explorer" and then click "OK."

    • 3

Locate the AVI file or files you wish to burn. Select those files and drag and drop them into the rewriteable CD folder.

    • 4

Click on "Write these files to CD" in the task bar. A window will appear asking you to create a label for your CD. If you wish to make a label, type the title of the CD.

    • 5

Click "Next." You will see a progress bar that represents the status of your CD burn. Once the CD is burned, another dialog box will appear asking if you want to burn additional copies of the CD. If you wish to make additional copies, insert another blank rewriteable CD. Otherwise, exit out of the CD-burning wizard.

Tips & Warnings
