The saying "eat less, move more," is true when it comes to losing belly fat fast. You can trim belly fat by setting realistic goals, which should include diet modification and some form of exercise. With some patience and some diligence, you can have a leaner belly in a short period of time.

      Cut down on alcohol. There are a lot of hidden calories in alcohol, especially in mixed drinks. This can put on weight fast. Alcohol also raises cortisol levels (stress hormone), which contributes to body fat.

      Eat fiber and drink water. Fiber makes you feel fuller so that you eat less overall. It can also help with constipation, which makes you look and feel bloated.

      Exercise regularly. Aerobic exercise is the best form of exercise for quick weight loss. Exercise for one hour per day for five days per week to trim body fat. Consider walking/running, jumping rope, row machines or aerobic dance classes for the best benefits.

      Lift weights. Weights burn fat and build muscle in very little time, and give a tight and slim look to the abs. When doing weights, it is best to do three sets of 10 in one sitting, working only one muscle group (like the arms) and then doing the other muscle group (like the legs) the following day. Keep up this alternating schedule.

      Watch what you eat. Avoid fried, processed and sugary foods. These foods add fat to the body very quickly because they contain mostly saturated fats, which do not break down in the body easily. These fats can also lead to high cholesterol. Eat fruits, vegetables and nuts as much as possible.
