How to Replace a Sienna's O2 Sensor
Before replacing the oxygen sensor in a Toyota Sienna, be sure that it is actually not working first. Any number of conditions in the engine--including bad spark plugs--can cause the O2 sensor to send a code, since the sensor senses the amount of unburned oxygen in the exhaust. When checked with an ohmmeter, the resistance between the +B and HT terminals should be 11 to 16 ohms at 68 degrees Fahrenheit.

Unplug the connector on the oxygen sensor by pushing the plastic tabs in and pulling the plug out. Some tabs need to be pried away from the plug with your fingers before the plug can be pulled out.

3
Coat the threads of the oxygen sensor with anti-seize if it didn’t come with some on the threads. Screw the O2 sensor into its cavity. Tighten with the oxygen sensor wrench. Plug the connector in.
