The Nintendo Wii video game system allows you to play a variety of games on your home high-definition (HD) television. While the Wii is not capable of displaying in true high-definition since it has no HDMI port, it is possible to connect the game system to your television using component or RCA cables.       Power down both your Wii game system and your HD television.

      Connect the jacks for the component cable into the component ports located on the back of your television. The jacks and ports are-color coordinated, with the video jacks and ports being green, blue and red, and the audio jacks and ports being red and white.

      Connect the component cable to the port located on the back of the Wii. There will be a single output port that will match the jack on the component cable.
