How to Shave Armpits Properly
Both women and men can shave the armpits to remove unwanted or excessive hair. The hair that grows under the armpits is referred to as terminal hair and is intended to protect and cushion the skin underneath the arm. Hair under the arms contributes to body odor when you're hot or sweaty because the underarm hair makes a good place for odor-causing bacterial to hide. Shaving is one way in which to remove unwanted armpit hair. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Stand in the shower or lay in the bathtub for a few minutes so the heat and water can soften the hair and skin in the armpits.
-
2
Shaving cream is an important part of any proper shave. Smear shaving cream over the hair in the armpit. The shaving cream lubricates the skin, protecting it from nicks, while also further softening and plumping up the armpit hairs.

Bring the razor in contact with the armpit skin and move it in the direction of the hair growth. Apply pressure against the skin for a close shave, but not so much pressure that the skin is being cut. Continue to make short shaving strokes, in the direction of hair growth, until all the armpit hair is gone.

4
Rinse the armpit area with warm water, then dry with a clean towel.

5
Dab antibiotic ointment on any nicks and hydrocortisone cream on any shaving bumps or pimples.

Tips & Warnings
Change razor blades after every few shaves. A sharp razor blade gives a close shave without cuts and nicks.
Moisturize the skin in the armpits if dry. This will help future shaves to be less irritating.
Never leave razors or razor blades where children can get them.
