How to Make Windshield Washing Fluid

Windshield washing fluid is held in a canister inside your car's engine compartment. At the push of a button or the flip of a lever, the washing fluid is sprade onto your windshield and your wipers clean off any debris or residue on your windshield. If you do not have wiper fluid on hand, or simply do not like the quality of the commercial brands of windshield washing fluid on the market, you can quickly make your own washing fluid from a few basic ingredients around the home.

Things You'll Need

• Gallon jug
• Rubbing alcohol
• Dish soap
• Water

Instructions

1. Pour 10 cups water, 3 cups rubbing alcohol and 1 tablespoon dish soap into a gallon jug.

2. Place the lid on the jug and shake to mix ingredients. Let the soap bubbles dissipate after shaking.

3. Pour the liquid into your windshield washer fluid canister until it reaches the fill line. The rubbing alcohol not only cleans, it also works as an anti-freeze for your windshield, making it perfect for cold weather driving.
