Instructions

    • 1

Finish all your eye makeup except the mascara before applying eyeliner. Dust your eyes with translucent powder. The eyeliner will stick to the eyes better if they are dusted with powder.

    • 2

Clear a workspace in front of a mirror that is well lighted. You will need to be able to see your eyes well.

    • 3

Stretch your eyelid to the side of your face. Do not pull too hard because this may hurt your eye. Drag the end of a sharpened eye pencil, liquid eyeliner applicator, or pot eyeliner applicator from the inside corner of your eye all the way to the outside corner in one smooth stroke. If you do not have a steady hand, rest your elbow on a counter to steady your arm.

    • 4

Go over the line that you drew again. Make the line as thick as you want by repeating Step 3.

Tips & Warnings

  • For a dramatic cat-eye look, bring the line in Step 3 past the outer corner of your eyelid.

  • Remember, the eyeliner is just makeup. If you make a mistake, wash it off and try again.

  • Try not to blink while applying eyeliner. You will ruin your makeup or, worse, poke your eye.
