How to Program a 30 Second Jump on a Comcast DVR

Comcast is the leading Cable operator in the United States that also provides services including telephone and high-speed internet. Subscribers of Comcast Digital Video Recording (DVR) services use a specific Comcast DVR remote. Users can map an unused or unneeded button to skip forward 30 seconds into a recording. The 30-second jump is often desired to skip commercials and advertising.

Instructions

1. Press the "Cable" button located at the top of the remote to control the Cable Box.

2. Press and hold down the "Setup" button until the "Cable" button flashes twice.

3. Enter "994" on the keypad. The "Cable button flashes twice.

4. Press the "Setup" button.

5. Enter "00173" on the keypad. This activates the 30-second skip.

6. Press the desired key you wish to map the skip command.
