How to Submit a Construction Bid
Construction, like many industries, is very competitive. When your company is requested to submit a bid for a project, it is important that you prepare thoroughly. A client is not going to appreciate having to continually ask you for revisions because you have not been careful enough when submitting your price. This is your opportunity to show your willingness to work with the client as well as generating income for your business.

1
Read through all of the information in the tender pack at least once so you are familiar with the requirements of the project, as well as the deadline for bid submission.
-
2
Make sure you have the resources and man-power available to meet the client's demand.
-
-
3
Visit the site, so you are aware of any restraints that will affect your bid, such as overhead power cables or poor ground conditions.
-
4
Put together your bid by reviewing the specification and drawings and carrying out measurements. You can speed things up by using some dedicated measurement software.
-
5
Ask questions of the client if there are any problems with the drawings or specification, or if you are unsure about anything. This will show the client that you are accurate and thorough in your work.
-
6
Send your price in an envelope marked 'Private and Confidential' and addressed to the client. Be sure to submit your price before the deadline day. Include your terms and conditions with your price breakdown.
