Fair skin burns easily and must be protected.

Perfectly fair skin is blemish-free and light in color, but many people who want this type of skin are not born with it. Exposure to the sun and heredity can make skin darker. Although there is no overnight fix, there are ways to make skin look paler and smoother. If you want to ditch your tanned skin for a lighter look, incorporate skin-lightening steps into your daily skin-care routine. Try a natural remedy to help you get a lighter complexion. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Pull your hair back with a headband or a towel. Remove your makeup with an oil-free makeup remover and cotton balls.

    • 2

Wash your face with a gentle cream-based cleanser. Rinse the cleanser from your face using cool to warm water. Pat your face dry with a towel.

    • 3

Use an at-home microdermabrasion treatment once a week. This rough exfoliant will remove excessive skin cells that can pile up because of hyper-pigmentation. A microdermabrasion treatment will also remove tiny bumps and blemishes on your skin. These blemishes can mar the look of your fair skin.

    • 4

Moisturize your face with a lotion that contains an SPF of 15 or higher.

    • 5

Add 1 tbsp. of fresh lime juice with 1 tbsp. of honey to a small cup or bowl. Mix the two ingredients well with a plastic stirrer or small spoon.

    • 6

Dampen a clean cloth, and wring out the excess water. Dip the cloth in the lime-honey mixture.

    • 7

Dab the mixture on to your face, and leave it on your skin for 10 minutes. Rinse your face with warm water, and follow that up with a gentle cleanse.

Tips & Warnings

  • Drink plenty of water every day for good-looking skin. Reapply sunscreen frequently to avoid getting a tan.
