1
Figure out the type of pattern you plan to use. Choose a non-complex design that you come up with on your own that contains few seams or pleats because this form of pattern presents fewer challenges.
-
2
Figure out the direction in which the fake fur goes by looking at how it naturally lays. The majority of fake furs have a clear direction. Make sure to sew each part of the fabric in the same direction.

3
Remove the layers of fur piece by piece. Do not tear the actual fur. Take the ends of your scissors and carefully cut the fur fabric. After you cut the backing, gradually separate the fake fur.
-
4
Use pins to connect the parts of your pattern in a location that lies perpendicular to the seam. While you perform this task, place the pieces of fabric right onto the seam with the outer part of a pin to avoid any material coming out of the seams. Take a slightly wet sponge to remove any excess fur from the seams.

5
Stitch the fake fur by following the pattern instructions. You can use either a straight or zigzag pattern. Create a sample of your pattern prior to the start of your project to make sure it looks like you want. Use a tiny brush to remove any extra fur that gets stuck along the seams throughout the sewing process.
