How to Upload Photoshop Files to a Website
Adobe Photoshop is the industry-standard software program for photo editing and other photo-based design functions. While images in Photoshop can be saved in many different formats, one of the default formats is Photoshop PSD. This format allows users to put multiple photos into one image, a valuable tool for Web design and other functions.

1
Design the image that you want and save it as a PSD file. Keep that file on your desktop so you can work with it again if needed.
-
2
Save it again as a PSD file under a different name. This is the file that you'll upload to the Web. Select "Flatten Image" under the "Layer" tab on the top. This will combine all the layers in the PSD image into a single image.

3
Click "Image Size" under the "Image" tab at the top. Reduce the image size to no more than 600 pixels wide and make the resolution 72 dpi. This will ensure that it fits properly online.
-
4
Click "File" and "Save As." When the window comes up select "JPEG" under the "Format" drop-down menu. A JPEG is a Web-friendly format. Name the file and save it to your desktop along with the original PSD file.
-
5
Upload the JPEG file to the Web, following the directions of the website you're using.

Tips & Warnings
Be sure to reduce the size and resolution of the image before uploading it. Otherwise it will cause the website you're using to download the image too slowly for impatient users.
Once an image is flattened it can't be unflattened.
