How to Make a Windows XP Rescue CD

Windows XP is a widely used operating system for personal computers. Microsoft manufactures and produces the software. It is used both in homes and business settings, and, although it was released in 2001, is one of the most popular Windows operating system versions currently on the market. Whether you are a student, work from home or simply keep all your important and personal information on your computer, you will want to make a back-up or rescue CD in case of an emergency.

• Blank CD or DVD

Instructions

1. Click on "Start" at the bottom of your computer screen. Select "All Programs."

2. Select the "Accessories" folder, click on "System Tools" and then select "Back Up" from the list.

3. Select "Advanced Mode" in the Back-up and Restore Wizard window. Select "Automated System Recovery Wizard" and then click on "Next."

4. Insert your blank CD when prompted. Click "Next" and then select "Finish" when the CD creation process completes.
