How to Tiny URL With Twitter
Twitter is a popular website where users enter mini blog posts for their followers to read. Because the posts are "mini" and are restricted to a maximum of 140 characters, it is not always easy to include everything in one post. You can always create another post, but it you are trying to enter information that must stay contained in one post, such as a URL, the character restriction can be very limiting. To get around this, several websites allow users to shorten their long URLs.

1
Shorten a longer URL with TinyURL. Enter the longer URL into the designated field. You can also enter a custom URL into the field below it. A custom URL can be anything (e.g., twitterpostbyn). Hit the "Make TinyURL!" button and the site will shorten the characters in your URL. This site provides both a regular shortened URL and a shortened, preview URL with a "COM" extension. The preview URL has the word "preview" in the URL and will open the URL in a separate window when the user clicks on it.

Shorten a long URL with Tiny.cc. Copy or type the long URL into the appropriate field and hit the "Tiny!" button. The result will be a shorter URL with a "CC" extension. In addition, you can enter a custom URL in the designated field after you copy the longer URL (e.g., mytwitterpost111). Then press the "Tiny!" button. If the custom URL is available, the site will shorten the longer URL into the desired shorter, custom URL.
