How to Bypass a Smart Filter
SmartFilter was originally developed by Secure Computing Corporation (SCC). Today it is known as McAfee SmartFilter and owned by McAfee, Inc. This multifunctional software is utilized by network administrators to apply restrictions, filter Web content and protect networks from potential threats. However, when SmartFilter is utilized, it isn't uncommon for harmless and in some cases useful websites to become filtered. Fortunately, you can bypass a SmartFilter restriction by using a Web proxy service, which is website that bypasses any type of filtering software and gives you access to restricted Web content.

Bypass a SmartFilter Using Around Business

Use your Internet browser to visit the Around Business website. Around Business is a cost-free Web proxy that unblocks SmartFilter restrictions, enabling users to visit sites inaccessible in the network.

Enter the URL for the site blocked by SmartFilter into the text box at the bottom of the screen, where it reads "Web Address."

Click on the "Surf..." tab. Upon clicking the button, Around Business will take you to the site originally unavailable due to SmartFilter blocks.
Bypass SmartFilter Using eHostKing.tk

Go to the eHostKing.tk website. EHostKing.tk is a free proxy site that provides Internet surfers a way to bypass restrictions set in place by SmartFilter while remaining secure and anonymous.

Begin SmartFilter restriction-free browsing by first clicking on the "begin surf" link found between the advertisements at the top middle region of the screen. Once you click the "begin surf" tab, a text box appears. Enter the prohibited URL into the text box.

Select the "Go" tab and EHostKing.tk will redirect you to the Internet destination you want to view without further interference from SmartFilter blocks.
Bypass SmartFilter Using HideToProxy

Go to the HideToProxy website (view Resources). HidetoProxy is a free proxy site that enables users to browse anonymously without being hindered by Web filtering restrictions from SmartFilter.

Enter the Web address of the site SmartFilter is blocking into the second text box at the bottom of the screen.

Click on the "Search" tab to be redirected to your desired Web location without SmartFilter denying access.
