How to Find the FCC# for a Keyless Remote thumbnail
Keyless remotes are used to lock and unlock vehicle doors.

A keyless remote allows the car owner to lock or unlock the vehicle using a small remote control, rather than a key. All keyless remotes have an FCC number located on the back of the remote. The FCC is essentially a model number for the remote. Vehicles have a small chip located within the vehicle. This chip allows the keyless remote to work with the vehicle. Only keyless remotes that correspond with the chip in the car can be used to unlock the door. Therefore, if you're purchasing a new keyless remote, the FCC or model numbers must match.
