How to Update a NVIDIA Graphics Driver in XP
NVIDIA graphics drivers control the operation of a computer's graphics card, or integrated graphics chip. It is a good practice to keep the system updated with the latest graphics drivers available. Updating an NVIDIA graphics driver in a Windows XP operating system can resolve problems, especially with video games, and generally increase overall performance.

Go the NVIDIA website's "Download Drivers" page (see References for the link).

Choose the download option: "Manually Find Drivers" or "Automatically Find Drivers." In the Manually Find Drivers section, select the applicable information for your system from the drop-down menus. In the Automatically Find Drivers section, click "Graphics Drivers."

Click "Yes" or "Allow" when Internet Explorer blocks the applet that attempts to run. This applet will automatically detect the graphics card and display the most current driver available. Click "Download." This will take you to the "Driver Release Page," which describes the changes made to the updated driver. Click "Agree & Download."

Click "Run" in the file download window that pops up. The updated graphics drivers will install automatically.
