How to Run Spybot Search & Destroy From a CD
Spybot Search & Destroy monitors your computer for malicious software. Often referred to as “malware,” spyware and adware infect your computer with unsolicited advertisements and pop-ups, track your Internet activities and slow down your computer by consuming system memory. Spybot will detect and remove these programs and restore the security and performance of your computer. You can run Spybot from a CD, giving you a portable copy that you can take with you wherever you go.

Tips & Warnings
Update the malware definitions on the copy of Spybot installed on your computer on a regular basis. Burn a new Spybot CD periodically to ensure that your portable copy contains the most recent updates.
Consider purchasing “Spybot Search & Destroy Personal Edition” instead of burning the standard edition to CD. While not free like the standard edition, the Personal Edition supports bootable scanning. This allows you to boot directly to Spybot to repair a Windows installation that will not otherwise load because of a malware infection.
Recording Spybot to CD disables several of the program’s features. You cannot update malware definitions or use real-time monitoring when running Spybot directly from a CD, and you are limited to using its manual scanning mode only.
