Windows XP's default Internet Explorer browser comes equipped with a Pop-up Blocker already installed. The Pop-up Blocker is enabled by default, aiming to allow the user to bypass distracting pop-up advertisements and other nuisance windows. The Pop-up Blocker can be turned off through the computer's Internet settings.

      Click the "Start" button and select "All Programs." Click "Internet Explorer" to launch the browser.

      Click the "Tools" menu, then select "Internet Options" to display the Internet Properties window.

      Click to select the "Privacy" tab. Click to clear "Block pop-ups" to turn off the pop-up blocker.
