How to Disable a Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator

Bluetooth is an open wireless protocol for exchanging data over a short distance by using radio waves. By using a Bluetooth adapter, your computer can communicate with Bluetooth devices. When you install a Bluetooth device to your computer, it is controlled by the Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator by default. If you want to use the software that came with the Bluetooth device instead, you'll need to disable the Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator through the Device Manager window.

Instructions

1. Click the "Start" menu, right-click on "My Computer," and then choose "Properties."

2. Click on the "Hardware" tab, and then click on the "Device Manager" button to open the Device Manager window.

3. Click on the "+" symbol next to the "Bluetooth Radios" category.

4. Right-click on "Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator" and choose the "Disable" option. Click the "Yes" button to confirm, then close the Device Manager window.
