How to Reset SonicWALL to the Factory Defaults

The SonicWALL firewall allows you to customize your internet security. At some point, you may find that you need to reset it back to the factory default. This may be necessary if you forget any passwords that allow you access to the firewall or if you just want to start from scratch with the firewall instead of deleting individual items that you were blocking or allowing. Luckily, resetting your SonicWALL is simple and only takes a few minutes to complete.

• Pointed object

Instructions

1. Find the "Reset" button on the back of the SonicWALL device. The button is located between the "Power" switch and the Ethernet ports.

2. Press the "Reset" button with a pointed object, such as the tip of a pen or a toothpick.

3. Hold the button in for five to 10 seconds to restore your settings to the factory default.
