Making your own glass water globes is a fun and easy craft that can be enjoyed by people of any age. 3
Insert your decorated gasket onto the glass globe, using care not to break the glass. Press the edge of the gasket gently but firmly in and down all the way around the water globe. The gasket is what keeps the water from leaking, so it must be correctly installed.

Peel back a small part of the gasket and add distilled water to the globe until it is overflowing. Press the gasket back in place where you inserted the water. Let the water globe stand a few hours and watch for air bubbles. If there are air bubbles, peel back a piece of the gasket and fill again with distilled water. Let the water globe and gasket air dry completely.

Apply waterproof glue or silicone adhesive to the seal where the glass globe meets the gasket. Let the globe dry completely. Apply glue or silicone adhesive again to mount the glass water globe to the base.

Tips & Warnings
A few drops of alcohol can be added to the water to prevent bacteria.
Glycerin can be added to the water to make snow drift slower. Add approximately 1 tsp. for a 4-oz. water globe.
Gaskets can be placed in the freezer until they are cold to make inserting the glass globe easier.
When making glass globes for children, use plain water in case the globe breaks.
Display water globes away from extreme temperature changes such as heaters and air conditioners.
