How to Set Up Wireless Internet on an Xbox

The wireless routher must broadcast an SSID (service set identifier) to connect with the Xbox.

Connecting an Xbox to a wireless network allows for greater flexibility. Users can take their Xbox to anywhere within the network's range and still have access to Xbox Live. Connecting the Xbox to the wireless network requires an active wireless router and an Xbox wireless networking adapter.

Things You'll Need

• Wireless router
• Xbox wireless networking adapter

Instructions

1. Connect an Xbox wireless networking adapter to the Xbox with an Ethernet cable.

2. Start the Xbox. Select "Settings" at the main menu. Select "Network Settings."

3. Select "Advanced." Choose "Wireless." Select "Settings."

4. Choose your wireless router's SSID from the Network Menu.

5. Select the Network mode as "Infrastructure." Select the security type that your wireless router is configured with. Type in the router's security key. Select "Save."

6. Select "Save." The Xbox will now connect to the wireless router.
