How to Remove a '95 Mustang Radio

Removing the radio in a 1995 Ford Mustang is pretty much the same as removing radios from other Fords. You need a special tool to unlock the radio and remove it from the dash. The good news is that you needn't remove the dash or the panel pieces to access the radio. If you're buying a new stereo, however, you may need to get an adapter for it.

Instructions

    • 1

Position the radio removal tool in the small holes on the side of the front of the radio. The removal tool can be purchased at an auto parts store.

    • 2

Push the tool into the small holes until the radio is unlocked. Tug the radio out of the console to free it from the dash.

    • 3

Unclip the wiring harness in the back by separating the locking tabs and pulling away from the dash. The harness will unlock from the radio.

    • 4

Remove the antenna wire out by pulling on it. Take the radio out of the car.
