How to Wash Fake Eyelashes
A common misconception is that you can only wear fake eyelashes once, when actually, they are reusable for about five to eights times. The key to keeping them beautiful is washing them on a regular basis. After wearing fake eyelashes, they have mascara, eyeshadow and eyelash glue stuck to them, as well as bacteria. You must remove this residue to keep your fake eyelashes intact for multiple uses. Luckily, it is very simple to clean fake eyelashes, but it is important to be gentle. Does this Spark an idea?

Soaking the lashes will soften any residue. Fill a small bowl with lukewarm water. Make sure the water is not too hot, as that could harden the lashes. Mix in about 1 tsp. of liquid soap. Place the fake eyelashes in the mixture and let them soak for about 10 minutes.

Removing leftover makeup is easy with makeup remover. Remove the fake eyelashes and lay them on a paper towel to absorb some of the moisture. Dip a cotton swab in makeup remover. Use the swab to clean the fake eyelashes, removing any leftover glue or mascara by gently pulling it from the eyelashes.

Keeping them in a closed container will preserve the lashes. Place the eyelashes on a paper towel, once thoroughly cleaned, and gently pat them dry. When completely dried, place them in a container to keep them safe from dust and residue.

Cotton swabs are gentle and don't add further bacteria. Provide optional sterilization. Use the cotton swab to dip into alcohol or other sterilizing liquid, then gently clean the eyelashes, especially the eyelash base. Allow them to dry on a paper towel before returning them to their case.

Tips & Warnings
It is important to be gentle during all of these steps, as fake eyelashes are delicate.
Not thoroughly allowing the eyelashes to dry before using could cause irritation to eyes.
