How to Make a Family Tree That Looks Like a Tree
There are many ways you can make a family tree that looks like a tree, depending on what kind of look you are going for. For a professional version of this meaningful craft, there are plenty of websites and programs online that come with templates, and all you have to do is enter in your family members' names. For a cool centerpiece for a family party, you can start with a free-standing coat rack that looks like a tree and hang family members' names from the branches. If you are working with kids, however, creating a family tree can be a fun and adorable project that also teaches them who's who in their family.

1
Paint your arm (or your child's arm) from the elbow to the tips of the fingers with brown paint.
-
2
Press painted arm firmly down on the construction paper to create the trunk and branches of your tree. Allow brown paint to dry.
-
-
3
Wash off your (or your child's) arm and paint some of your (or your child's) fingers green.
-
4
Press fingers down randomly over the branches to create small leaves.
-
5
Cut apple-shaped pieces out of the red construction paper.
-
6
Write one family member's name on each apple and glue to the branches of the tree. Start with the oldest members at the top of the tree and glue the youngest members to the bottom branches.
-
7
Glue pictures of each family member's face to their apple instead of writing their names (this is an optional step).
