Seaweed is extremely detoxifying and has been used for a centuries as a beauty staple by women and men throughout the world. Seaweed is rich in vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants. Applied to the face, seaweed can revitalize, firm and nourish skin while balancing and improving the overall texture. Seaweed facial masks are popular spa treatments but can easily be prepared at home with a few simple ingredients.
Things You'll Need
- 1 Tbsp. kelp powder (ask your local health food store)
- 1/2 Tbsp. honey (raw, organic is preferred)
- 1/2 Tbsp. aloe vera gel (optional)
- Mixing bowl
Mix the kelp powder with the honey until you have a thick paste. Honey is extremely nourishing and gentle for the face and it provides a great base for the mask.
Add the aloe vera gel to your kelp and honey mixture and mix well. Aloe vera is well-known as a healing, lubricating addition to skin products.
Apply the paste to your clean face using your fingers. Apply liberally to all of the facial skin including under the eyes and along your neck. Leave the mask on for about 15 minutes.
Rinse the mask off using lukewarm water and pat dry.
