How to Update Disk Defragmenter

Disk Defragmenter is a utility that analyzes your hard drive and rearranges data, allowing Windows to access information faster and with higher efficiency. Because Disk Defragmenter is a native Windows utility, if any updates are available for this program they will be released through the Windows Update application. All you have to do to automatically download and install these updates is run Windows Update at any time.

Instructions

1. Click on the "Start" button icon on your Windows desktop.

2. Click "All Programs."

3. Click "Windows Update."

4. Click "Check for Updates." In the box that contains a list of all available updates, check the ones for "Disk Defragmenter" (if they are available). Click "Download and Install" to update Disk Defragmenter using Windows Update.
