How to Run Multiple Instances in PowerPoint

Microsoft PowerPoint does not allow multiple instances of the program running by one user. However, using the system user accounts, you can have PowerPoint open up on more than one occasion. This is great if you are working on two PowerPoint presentations at one time. You can either flip between the two presentations in different running copies of PowerPoint, or you can set your computer on dual screen and use a copy of PowerPoint on each screen.

  • Click "Start," "Control Panel," and then "Add or Remove Users." Add a new user account.

  • Click "Start" then "All Programs." Find PowerPoint.

  • Right click on PowerPoint and press "Shift" at the same time.

  • Select "Run As a Different User" from the options.

  • Choose the new user account you just created.
