How to Clean a Jeep 4.0 Engine Bay
Over time, exhaust, oil and other contaminants can make your Jeep's engine bay grimy and dirty. This dirt and grime can cling to important sensors, which can lead to premature engine failure. Clean your Jeep's engine bay regularly to ensure a smooth running vehicle. Use cleaning solutions that can be purchased at your local auto parts store to clean the engine bay yourself. These cleaning solutions come in cans and are applied to the engine. They are labeled as "engine degreasers."
Instructions

1
Open the hood and locate the throttle body on top of the engine. The air box tube is connected to the throttle body.
-
2
Place a plastic bag over the throttle body, to minimize the amount of water that is applied to the throttle body when cleaning.
-
-
3
Spray engine degreaser on the engine and in the engine bay. Avoid spraying it near the throttle body or the battery connections.
-
4
Allow the degreaser to soak for 15 minutes.
-
5
Spray the engine clean with a hose. If you do not have access to a hose, dump buckets of luke-warm water on the engine to remove the dirt and grime.
-
6
Remove the plastic bag from the throttle body.
