Msvcr80.dll refers to Microsoft Visual C Runtime 8.0, which controls your software’s capability to perform certain function calls native to the “C” programming language. This runtime installs all the common components needed to run most applications that wrap around C and C++. You might get an error saying that “Msvcr80.dll” hasn’t been found when the DLL was unregistered or removed. To fix this error, unregister the library and register it again.

      Press your Windows key (the key with a Windows icon next to your keyboard’s “Alt” key) and “R” simultaneously. This brings up the “Run” window.

      Type “cmd” in the textbox and click “OK.”

      Type the following command in your command prompt: regsvr32 /u msvcr80.dll. After this finishes, type “regsvr32 msvcr80.dll.” Restart your computer when you finish.
