How to Update Pidgin
Pidgin is a free instant messenger program that allows you to sign into multiple instant messenger services at one time and chat with your contacts using one program, instead of signing in to all of your accounts individually, as of 2010. Pidgin aggregates your information from your AOL Instant Messenger, MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Chat, Google Talk, MySpace IM, Bonjour, Zephyr and other accounts that you may have. It is an open-source program, which means that people may modify it as they choose, so the program is updated often.

Visit the Pidgin website and download the newest version of the program.

Click the "Download Pidgin" button on the main screen. This will take you to another page to download the latest update. The update should begin automatically. If it does not, click the hyperlink titled "Direct link" to start it.

Install the Pidgin program. Follow the prompts to overwrite the old version of Pidgin and install the updated version.
