How to Make a Brochure in Microsoft Publisher 2003
Microsoft Publisher allows users to make professional looking publications and marketing materials with just a few clicks. Microsoft Publisher offers templates for brochures, postcards, greeting cards or newsletters. You can create a brochure with a Microsoft Publisher 2003 template that will appeal to readers on their first glance.

Set Up Brochure

Start Microsoft Publisher and choose "Publications for Print" followed by "Brochures" from the New Publications task pane.

Click the type of brochure you want to create from the options given such as informational, event or fundraiser. Pictures of the templates available will pop up next to the task pane once you select a type of brochure. Click on the example you want.

Open the "Brochure Options" task pane. Select "3-panel" or "4-panel" depending on how many panels you want your brochure to have.

Choose whether you want to include addresses on your brochure by clicking "Include" or "None." If you choose "Include," the program will add mailing information to the back panel of your brochure.

Pick a type of response form to include under "Form" or click "None" if you do not want a response form included.

Choose the color and font scheme you want for your brochure under the proper headings.
Format Brochure

Type the text you want in your brochure over the placeholder text.

Go to the "Format" menu, then to "AutoFit Text" and choose "Do Not AutoFit" if you want to format your font size. Make sure you are clicked into the text box you want to format. Now you can choose your preferred font size.

Right-click any pictures on the brochure you want to replace. Choose "Change Picture" and select the source for your new picture. If you do not see the option "Change Picture" when you right-click, click on the picture until you see white circles around it, then click again until you see gray circles with x's. You can also move an image by clicking on the image, then dragging it once your cursor shows a four-way arrow. Left-click once on an image and press "delete" on the keyboard to get rid of the image. You can re-size an object by dragging the white dots around the image.

Insert any new text boxes or images you want by going to "Insert" then "Picture" or "Text Box" depending on which one you want.

Save your brochure once it meets your criteria.
Rearranging Brochure

Go to "View," "Zoom" and then "33%" to view your full publication. If you want to rearrange panels on your brochure, go to "Edit" then "Select All" to select all of the objects.

Click the "Group" button, which looks like two squares on top of each other.

Drag the group of objects to the gray area surrounding your brochure. Move the group of objects to their new location.

Click the "Group" button again to ungroup the objects if you want to move individual objects. Drag any individual objects from the gray area to their new location.

Save the brochure once you have everything rearranged.
