How to Disable Hyperlink Warning Messages in Office 2007
Microsoft applications generate security warnings on certain links in Microsoft Office applications. For many users, this is a good security feature. Some users, however, find this inconvenient. Microsoft has provided a method to turn off these warning messages on hyperlinks and certain image files, but it requires modifying the Windows registry. Registry edits are not difficult but can pose a serious risk to the computer if executed improperly.

Creating a system restore point is recommended (See Resources).

Click the "Start" button.

Type "regedit" in the search box. Press "Enter."

Click "Continue" if you get a "User Account Control" window.

Press "F3" on the keyboard to open the "Find" window.

Type "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common" and click "Find Next." If this text is not found, press "ok," then F3 again. Type "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common" and click "Find Next."

Look for a sub-key named "Security". If this exists, click on it. If not, create it by clicking "Edit", "New" and then "Key." Type "Security" and press enter.

Click "Edit," "New," and then "DWORD" value. Type "DisableHyperlinkWarning" and click "Modify".

Select "Decimal" and type "1" for the value. Click "OK."

Close the registry editor and reboot the computer.

Tips & Warnings
Key names are case sensitive. Be careful to type them exactly as they appear.
Editing the registry incorrectly can disable a computer. Only those who are proficient with computers should attempt this procedure.
