How to Write a Thank You Card Online for Free
Receiving gifts from loved ones makes people feel appreciated. However, thanking the person within a reasonable amount of time is proper etiquette and should be followed up with a thank you card. This will let the person know that you appreciate them. Because of technology, you can send a thank you card to their email address for free.

Search online for a free eCard website. Search the Internet for an eCard website that offers free online eCards. Some of the websites offer free eCards on a trial basis. 123 Greetings and Greeting-Cards are examples of websites that offer free eCards all the time.

Compare different websites eCards. Click on a free eCard website of your choice. Browse the categories offered or type in "thank you card," on the website's search engine. The thank you cards available will appear on the next screen.

Click on the thank you eCard that you like. Select the thank you eCard that you like. Click on it and the message box should appear on the next screen for you to type in your personal thank you message for your gift.

Show your appreciation for the gift and how you plan to use it. State in your thank you message that you are very grateful and appreciative of the gift as well as stating how you will use the gift. For example, you could say, "Thank you so much for thinking of me on my birthday. I really appreciate you being at my party. The snow boots will come in handy when I go on my ski trip this winter. Thank you so much for your generosity."

Be sure to close out the card properly. Close out the thank you card with "Love," or "Your friend," with a comma afterward. State your name on the next line under the closing.

Email the thank you card to your loved one. Fill out the designated box for the recipient's email address and press "Send" when prompted.
