How to Reset a Security Password on a BlackBerry Curve

Privacy is always worth protecting, therefore it is good to change passwords on a regular basis to lessen the chances of them being discovered. This is true for your BlackBerry as well. It is quick and simple to set up a new password on the phone.

Instructions

1. Click the "BlackBerry" button to bring up the full icon menu. This option can also be selected from any folder by clicking the "Blackberry" button and selecting "Options" from the menu.

2. Locate and click on the wrench icon labeled "Options" if you are accessing the icon list.

3. Click on "Password."

4. Click on "Change Password."

5. Enter the old and new password information for the phone.

Tips & Warnings

• Entering your password incorrectly too many times will cause the phone to perform a security wipe. This erases all the data, contacts and files in the phone and restores it to factory settings. Do not pull the battery during a security wipe or it will cause fatal software errors that will render the phone inoperable.
