How to Send a Free Voice SMS to Mobiles

With Voice SMS, you can send a sound to someone else's phone.

If you want to send a sound clip of the perfect concert, give your significant other a clip of "your song" or just say hello, a voice SMS is a perfect way to get your sound to someone else's phone without them having to pick up. The sound will be in their inbox whenever they are ready to pick it up, and most Sprint phones offer the service for free.

Instructions

1. Navigate to the "Send messages" menu on your phone. This menu may be in a different place depending the type of phone you have. Consult your manual if you don't know how to get there.

2. Click "Send message" and scroll down to "SMS Voice Message." Make sure the sound you want to record is prepared before you actually click.

3. Click the "SMS Voice" button and hold the speaker in the direction of the sound. Push "end" when you are done recording. It will give you approximately two minutes of time.

4. Click "Send" and wait for your phone to say that sending is complete.

Tips & Warnings

• You can re-record if it does not sound just right. If you are recording a song, put the phone at least an inch or two away from the speakers. There will be static if you touch the mouthpiece to the speaker.
