How to Share Files on XP Home
Windows XP Home edition uses Simple File Sharing, which provides less options and automates more settings than previous versions of Windows. While it isn't configurable enough for corporate networks, it requires less configuration for home users. Simple File Sharing is turned on by default on XP Home computers and allows you to share files with other computers on a local networks from a folder's properties dialog. You can share files as read-only, or allow other users on the network to add, modify and delete files.
