If your Control Panel starts freezing or acting up on you, it may cause problems for your entire system. Fortunately, you can repair the Control Panel yourself.

Instructions

Click the "Start" button, go to "Run" and type "Regedit," followed by "Enter." From here, you can edit and manipulate your entire registry, changing the way programs and processes function.

Click "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" and scroll through until you get to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer." Click on "Explorer" to open and view its values. Locate the Binary Value keys called "NoControlPanel" and "NoRestriction" and right-click each of them, followed by "Delete."
