How to Register for MSN Live

Unlike conventional mail that is sent through the postal system, email is a method of exchanging digital messages across the Internet.

Registering for a MSN Live Hotmail account will allow you to automatically register for other MSN features. MSN Live Hotmail is a free email service that also provides free email security. MSN Live, a Microsoft company, offers several free features, such as MSN Live Messenger, MSN Communities and MSN Music.

Instructions

1. Type "msn.com" in your Internet browser address bar. The address bar is located at the top of the Internet browser window.

2. Click on the "Hotmail" link. This link is located at the top left of the web page.

3. Click on the "Sign up" button. You can find this button on the bottom, right-hand side of the screen.

4. Fill out the web form. All information is required.

5. Click the "I accept" button located at the bottom of the web page.

6. Write your e-mail address on a piece of paper and store it in a safe place. If you forget your password, MSN Live will allow you to reset it.

Tips & Warnings

• If you use Hotmail, Messenger or XBOX Live, you already have a Windows Live ID.

• If you forget your email address or Windows Live ID, you will need to create a new account.
