How to Forward a Gmail Message to a Cell Phone thumbnail
Gmail has made it easy to get your email on your cell phone.

Times may arrive when you are expecting an email but do not have access to a computer. Fortunately, Gmail can forward your email to your cell phone, allowing you to pick and choose the emails you want. Whether or not you can receive Gmail on your cell phone depends on which phone you have; not all cell phones can receive email, so check out your phone first.

Instructions

    • 1

Log in to your Gmail account (see link in Resources section). Click "Settings," then "Filters," then "Create a new filter."

    • 2

Go to the "From" field and type the email addresses of every sender whose messages you want forwarded, or type "*" (without the quotation marks) if you want all of your mails forwarded.

    • 3

Type your 10-digit cell phone number in the "Forward it to" box, followed by "@" (without the quotation marks) and the Web address provided by your cell phone company---"tmomail.net" for T-Mobile, "vmobl.com" for Virgin Mobile, "cingularme.com" for Cingular, "messaging.sprintpcs.com" for Sprint, "vtext.com" for Verizon and messaging.nextel.com for Nextel.

    • 4

Click "Create Filter"; Gmail will forward your emails to your cell phone until you change the settings.
