How to Block an IP Address in Windows
Some websites should be blocked from kids or for other reasons. If there is a website that you need to block you can block the IP address of that site by editing a file in Notepad. Once you block the IP address for that site, future attempts to navigate to it will result in the message "Page cannot be displayed."

Click "Start" and "Computer." Click the hard drive (C:) under "Hard Disk Drives." Click the folders "Windows," "System32," "Drivers" and then "etc."

Right click the "Hosts" file, select "Open With" and select "Notepad."

Scroll to the bottom of the page and type "127.0.0.1 unwantedsite.com. Replace "unwantedsite" with the website address you want to block. Press "Enter" two times.

Click "File" and then "Save." Click "File" then "Exit" to close Notepad.
