How to Repair a Microsoft PowerPoint
If you are experiencing technical issues when working with a Microsoft Office PowerPoint presentation file, then you can run the Office Diagnostics feature to determine the cause of the problem. Common issues include the application not properly saving your updates or the program crashing unexpectedly. The Office Diagnostics feature will run tests on your application and fix the problem or give a list of possible solutions, such as download a new update.

Open the Microsoft PowerPoint file on your computer that you are having problems with.

Click on the "Microsoft Office" button from the top toolbar menu and then click on the "PowerPoint Options" button from the bottom of the application.

Click on the "Resources" option and then click on the "Diagnose" option. The Office Diagnostics page appears on your screen.

Click on the "Continue" button and then click on the "Start Diagnostics" option. Allow time for the diagnostics process to complete, which can last up to 15 minutes.

Review the diagnostics summary and click on the link or links that are given for possible solutions. In many cases the issue can be fixed automatically during the diagnostics process.

Close out of the Office Diagnostics dialog box and close out of the PowerPoint file. Restart your computer and open the PowerPoint file again to make sure the problem is corrected.
